A lorry spilled insulation material on to a road in Waltham Cross and caused a road blockage earlier today (April 11), police confirmed. The incident happened on the A1010 Monarchs Way in the late morning, which resulted in heavy traffic congestion in the area close to the roundabout linking Monarchs Way to Eleanor Cross Road.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary told HertsLive: "Police were called at around 10.30am today following an incident in Monarchs Way, Waltham Cross. It was reported that insulation materials had fallen from a lorry onto the carriageway.

"Officers attended and closures were put in place while the load was recovered. The road was reopened just before 12.30pm."
A forklift truck attended the scene to help with the clear-operation. Local transport services such as the 217 and 327 routes taken by Sullivan Buses were also affected at the time but have since resumed normal services.
