Greetings friends and welcome to HUTIMES.COM, the online version of the Long Island, New York-based newspaper, Hempstead/Uniondale Times, a local newspaper with a global view is an is an independent, alternative community-based newspaper that was established in June 2005 to gather, print, and disseminate positive news and information that connect, engage, and uplift our community of colored here in Hempstead, Long Island, NY.
Our print version has a print-run of over 25,000 copies (with a pass-along value of 4-6 people a copy — a readership of 100,000-150,000). The paper is distributed free of charge at public outlets in Hempstead, Uniondale, and surrounding villages as well as Suffolk County and Greater New York City.
Hempstead/Uniondale Times newspaper has been spreading good news about our community, and now we are bringing our stories to the global community via our website – www.hutimes.com. With our online presence, our primary purpose is to connect our community, which so often overlooked by the mainstream press, to the international world. We have been hard at work in our zeal to spread our stories in a qualitative way, and here you have it! Our team of journalists, many of who hold degrees from Columbia University, The City College of New York, University of Minnesota School of Journalism, Howard University, and other fine institutions, come to their assignments with zealous pride and commitment to bringing you the best.
